Remove the front panel and look for the ignitor sensor. Answered by a verified hvac technician. The pilot light or ignition sensor is usually the most common issue when your furnace will not ignite. Set the temperature you would like for test purposes just set about 10 degrees hotter than the current temperature to see if the furnace turns on. Check that the thermostat is in the heating mode of operation. A faulty or dirty ignition or sensor is a relatively easy fix so follow these steps and you may be able to solve the problem yourself. Check that the thermostat is on.
