Move the cable to a lower hole on the control if the lever travel is insufficient to reach full throttle.

You may like my other videos. Adjust the cable of the throttle in the endpoint and tighten the screws of the clamp. If there is slack in the cable then you need to make another adjustment. Detach the cable from the throttle arm on the engine.

Adjust the forward cable barrel while the throttle cable is in the full forward position. Tighten the jam nut on the throttle cable with the wrenches. Ensure that the throttle arm at the motor travels to the throttle stops. Adjusting and replacing the throttle cable can be done at any level of mechanic skill.

The throttle valve cable is used to control the line pressure downshifting and the feel of the shifting. Push the throttle to the full forward position. With control shifter still in full forward full throttle position adjust brass trunion on control cable to fit onto easily onto shift bracket. Take the boat to the dealer as soon as possible.

Push the throttle lever towards the slow position. I do and do not do this so it is up to you. The manual says to spin trunion up to four 4 additional turns in one direction but i do not have that info at hand. Install short cable back into shift bracket.

This throttle valve cable is responsible for controlling the throttle lever providing movement to the car. If it is turned on and off as per your command then the adjustment is ok. If your boat and motor are still under warranty don t attempt to adjust the throttle cable. Remove the cable by opening the unit and unscrewing the lock screw on the handle.

If adjusting your throttle cable doesn t eliminate problems with engine speed control have the issue looked into by your boat or motor dealer. Many cars with automatic transmissions use a mechanical cable that runs from the transmission to the throttle linkage. The housings will swivel off the base and slide down the cable. Throttle freeplay is a terribly overlooked adjustment that can change both the reaction and comfort of your motorcycle.
